Most Arabic courses teach vocabulary by topic: food one week, family the next, travel after that. It feels organised, but it hides a problem — a word’s usefulness has almost nothing to do with the chapter it appears in.
The 80% idea
In any language, a small set of words does most of the work. The top 1,000 Arabic words cover roughly 80% of everyday speech. Learning them in frequency order means every new word you pick up shows up again almost immediately, which is exactly what makes it stick.
Context turns words into reading
A frequency list alone is just a list. Aravoca pairs each word with example sentences built only from words you have already learned, plus one new word. You are never reading a sentence you can’t decode.
