الكتاب

Mukhtārāt min Adab al-ʿArab — "Selections from the Literature of the Arabs" — is a multi-volume anthology of classical Arabic prose compiled by the Indian scholar Abū'l-Ḥasan ʿAlī al-Ḥasanī al-Nadwī. It draws together passages from the first Islamic century down to the 14th hijrī century, chosen to represent the literature of the Arabs in its natural mode rather than in the elaborate, rhymed-prose tradition that came to dominate the curriculum. This is Volume 1 — the prose volume (qism al-nathr).
